No, this mimetite specimen is not from San Pedro Corralitos. Even those are hard to get now, but this is an even rarer small cabinet of similar form and color from a completely different locality in Zacatecas - the Bilbao Mine. These are translucent, orange to yellow-orange botryoids with a silky luster, pretty 3-dimensionality and rest on a matrix of mostly solid cerussite. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but is only a modest detraction from this showy, old-time rarity. From a one-time find in the 1950s, I am told. Ex. Consie Prince collection of Houston.
