Item Description
Found in 2003 and then a few pockets since then over the years, the gemmy mimetite specimens from Pingtouling have equaled or exceeded the best the world has produced from other locales. They are certainly the most flashy examples of the species. Perched on 3-dimensional matrix, these isolated and clustered, prismatic, barrel shaped, glassy and gemmy, crystals to 6 mm across really glow with a fiery orange-amber color. These crystals have uncommon uniform color and have the super luster characteristic of the top percentiles of the find. Mimetite of this style now hasn't been found new in over 4 years. This is a sparkling jewel that just reflects color and light from every angle! A trivial bit of bruising is noted, but is only a very modest detraction. For the size and uncommon isolated crystals, it is an excellent specimen. Valued at $750-ish
