Item Description
Vivid orange to orange, translucent, moderately lustrous, nubby mimetite botryoids, to 8 mm, are beautifully clustered atop mounded blocky small cabinet matrix. Scattered glassy and lustrous colorless calcite crystals are a nice accessory on this showy and colorful combination from a recent find at famed Mina Bilbao - NOT from Mina Ojuela, as we had incorrectly assumed while ignoring the unusual color and style (when a label got mixed up and has now been corrected thanks to the previous owner). Mostly intact - a couple of broken botryoids are certainly only a modest detraction. This is a MUCH more rare find and style than the traditional material which came from huge finds in Ojuela over the years. Ex Tony Gleckler Collection. These were said to come out in the 1960s and early 1970s and are largely forgotten today, despite the beauty - or confused (as we initially did) with a strange style from Ojuela.
