Mimetite (Fioravanti Coll.)

Item Description

Lustrous, translucent, tabular, hexagonal, mellow-yellow mimetite crystals to 6 mm are richly and aesthetically strewn across gossan matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from Mt. Bonnie, Northern Territory, Australia. A very fine and rich example of the species and locale from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and obtained from a Newquay, Cornwall collection in 1975 for 15 pounds. Not cheap in those days.
