Item Description
A superlatively aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet from this more obscure Arizona locale. Gorgeous sprays of rich orange mimetite prisms are dramatically set in the vug on the V-shaped matrix. The crystals reach about 7 mm. The accenting green minerals are either malachite or rare bayldonite. Outstanding and very rare in this quality material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 9927 and acquired in Tucson in 1982. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). The piece looks fabulous from either side.
