Item Description

Emplaced on a limonite matrix is a drapery of lustrous and translucent, yellowish-amber colored spheres of mimetite, to 5 mm across. It looks like they were just dripped on by a baker decorating a pastry! These are from only ONE FIND HERE, in around 1969, and no more has been found since. For color an dunusual form, the mimetites have become highly desirable over the years and skyrocketed in value. The intense color contrast between the terra cotta colored matrix and the yellow mimetite is extraordinary on this large, handsized display specimen. Valued $750-1000
