Mimetite (classic material)

Item Description

A classic example of the beautiful Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine. This attractive miniature sized piece features eye-catching, orange-yellow colored, vitreous / resinous, intergrown semi-radial groups of Mimetite measuring up to 6 mm on oxidized matrix. The Mimetites are not quite prisms or balls, but somewhere in between. I've described them before as "elongated globular" groups. Perhaps my favorite aspect of the piece is that each group is defined and fairly separated from one another, so the piece is distinctive and three-dimensional. Very minor damage, and a good example of this well-known material.
