Item Description

A classic example of these distinctive and eye-catching Mimetites from the world-famous Ojuela Mine. This piece is a beautiful small cabinet sized featuring semi-radial groups measuring up to about 1.4 cm sitting on oxidized matrix. Each Mimetite group is elongated, and while they are not narrow prisms, they aren't complete "spheres" either, rather somewhere in between. The color grades from a medium orange-yellow to nearly a chocolate brown at the base, creating a lovely effect. I love the eye-catching distinct resinous luster on the Mimetites and the fact that the groups are fairly well-separated and defined makes them all the more enticing. A showy and three-dimensional display specimen of these well-known and fine quality Mimetites. No major damage that I can see, just some peripheral contacts underneath where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. Priced in our inventory at $900.
