Mimetite (classic material)

Item Description

A classic older Ojuela Mimetite featuring resinous, rich yellow colored semi-radial groups free of matrix. This a wonderful thumbnail example of this hard to find material. The shape of the groups is best described as elongated spheres, as they are not your typical hexagonal prisms or complete "spheres" like those from San Pedro Corralitos, but somewhere in between. I like the fact that each Mimetite group is distinct giving the piece great three-dimensional character.
