Mimetite (classic material)

Item Description

A classic example of these iconic and distinctive, Mimetites from Ojuela, featuring attractive rich yellow colored groups which are covering the underlying oxidized matrix. The shape of the Mimetites are a bit elongated in habit, but not truly narrow prisms, nor are they complete "spheres", rather somewhere in between. The largest individual Mimetite aggregate measures about 8 mm. They have a distinct resinous luster and the fact that they are fairly well-separated and defined makes them all the more enticing. Very minor bladed orange-yellow Wulfenite can be seen on the piece as well. A showy and three-dimensional display specimen of this classic material from Ojuela. Very little damage.
