Mimetite (classic material)

Item Description

These Mimetites are distinctive classics from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This miniature sized piece features eye-catching, saturated yellow colored, vitreous / resinous, intergrown semi-radial groups of Mimetite measuring up to about 1.1 cm, on oxidized matrix. The Mimetites are not quite prisms nor are they spherical balls, but somewhere in between. I've described them before as "elongated globular" groups. Perhaps my favorite aspect of the piece is that each group is relatively well-defined and fairly separated from one another, so the piece is distinctive and three-dimensional.
