Item Description

These attractive and now very hard to find Mimetite specimens hit the market in the late 1990s. Their superb color, quality and size made them instantly popular with dealers and collectors, as they were some of the most striking examples of the species outside of Tsumeb to come out in many years. The original given locality for these specimens was "Hat Mai", but they have since been confirmed from coming from the Guatomo Mine. This particular specimen features many fine quality, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, rich golden-yellow color hexagonal crystals measuring up to about 4 mm on oxidized matrix. Some of the crystals are contacted, but most of them are in excellent condition and look beautiful up close. I love the luster on some of these crystals and they are certainly fine quality Mimetites regardless of size, and seldom seen on the market these days. I recently picked up a handful of these old specimens from a dealer's stash a few years ago, and I'm putting them in the auctions to give people a chance to pick them up if you missed out on them when they first came out.
