Item Description

A showy and rich mimetite specimen from this well-known Caldbeck Fells mine. Lustrous, translucent, barrel-shaped prisms to about 2 mm are festooned on two sides of the sugary milky quartz matrix. These could well be pyromorphite crystals, as such pieces in the Pyromorphite-Mimetite Series are difficult to distinquish from this locale. Excellent, highly representative classic material from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
