Mimetite (classic locale)

Classic and excellent mimetite from one of the most iconic and ONE-TIME Mexican find at San Pedro Corralitos in 1968. Translucent, waxy luster, orange-yellow mimetite botryoids densely cover the sculptural, arched small cabinet crust. Single botryoids reach 9 mm and the impressive large compound botryoid at the top in 1.5 cm wide. Some of the botryoids are intergrown with an interesting "rope-like" look in the upper center-right below the top. The trivial bit of scuffing certainly has only minimal impact to the overall high quality, fine color and richness of the piece. The specimens were first marketed at the Tucson Show in 1969. These remain classics, and unique specimens compared to others of the species. Valued at $3000-4000.
