Botryoidal yellow mimetite from the famous 1968 find at San Pedro Corralitos is a Mexican classic. This very sculptural, 3-dimensional crust is covered with translucent yellow botryoids of variable size, which adds character. The back reveals the striking crustal form of this piece. The bit of noted periphery wear on the left side is certainly only a modest detraction to this showy and excellent example. Otherwise, the piece is pristine. Prices for these have really escalated in the last few years at major US shows. Specimens I saw in the late 1980s have increased 10X in price to comparable material today. Valued by the former dealer at $695 and is certainly worth more.
