Mimetite and Calcite (old classic style)

Lustrous, burnt-orange, coral-like Mimetite crystals to 1.8 cm, form a sculptural and aesthetic small cabinet specimen from Santa Eulalia. Associated are a large number of SUPERB 6 mm Calcite rhombs. These Calcites have sharp, white cores with a totally gemmy and clear outer layer. For the Calcites from this distict, this as a very dramatic and distinctive look. This highly aesthetic combination was undoubtedly from the 1970s/80s finds in Santa Eulalia. An outstanding small cabinet display specimen of this old classic material. This was recently deaccessed from the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
