Mimetite

Item Description

A fine quality specimen of excellent yellow color Mimetite micro crystals in semi-spherical "finger"-shaped aggregates on a bit of Limonite matrix from the famous Ojuela Mine. The largest Mimetite measures 1.3 cm long. We've seen a lot of green Mimetites from the Ojuela Mine with the same habit, often associated with Wulfenite, but the yellow material is older, and to my mind, less common than the green. This piece came out around 40 years ago. Good quality, with only a little bit of damage, and very attractive in person.
