Item Description
Pleasing light yellow, translucent, variably-sized mimetite botryoids are richly and dramatically festooned on the sculptural, vuggy, contrasting, small cabinet, gossan matrix. Botryoids reach 5 mm and all of the myriad are pristine. This is classic and excellent mimetite from one of the most iconic and ONE-TIME Mexican find at San Pedro Corralitos in 1968. The specimens were first marketed at the Tucson Show in 1969. See the 2004 Mineralogical Record article in Mexico Special Issue-IV, Vol 35, No. 6. These remain classics, and unique specimens compared to others of the species. Big, showy, with admirable matrix contrast. Valued $1000-2000.
