Item Description

Tsumeb is the world’s most famous Copper mine, and it is widely considered to be the most classic mineral locality in the world. The greatest find of yellow Mimetites occurred there, and this small-cabinet specimen more than upholds this fine tradition. Many of these bright-yellow GEM crystals reach up to 5 mm in length, and their acute and elongated pyramidal form creates a sharp, tapered, acicular habit that is immediately eye-catching. With superb luster and complete gemminess, the crystals glitter against the diverse oxide matrix. Such aesthetics show why Tsumeb Mimetites are some of the most highly coveted specimens for collectors.
