Item Description
A stunning example of mimetite from the location most famous for Wulfenite: the San Francisco Mine in Mexico. The bright orange-colored balls on matrix are associated with very small transparent yellow wulfenite panes at bottom of specimen. Such a fiery orange color (or red/orange, rather) in these "ball shaped " specimens from this mine are scarce. Frank Martz acquired this specimen in 1982, the last year quantities of the orange-colored specimens were offered. Alex had a particular love of the location and was happy to add a mimetite to his numerous wulfenites.
