Item Description

The famous Tsumeb Mine is known for having 358 mineral species (MINDAT). One of the many highly sought after minerals from there are the gemmy Mimetites. This piece has HUNDREDS of gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, yellow Mimetite crystals that are festooned in several pockets of the elongated sulfide matrix on this classic specimen. It's not from the fabulous 1971 "Gem Pocket", but it's as gemmy as any other pocket can get, and very good. Sharp crystals to 1 cm. Valued $1200-1500.
