Mimetite

Item Description

Most Mimetites from various world localities are tend to be more on the yellow side of the spectrum, but some of the pieces from the famous Ojuela Mine have a distinctive GREEN hue, which is highly desirable and clearly eye-catching. This piece is a wonderful example of these classic specimen featuring a full coverage of semi-botryoidal aggregates of yellow-green Mimetite measuring up to about 5 mm, sitting on oxidized matrix. Upon close inspection, I found a little WULFENITE crystal hiding among the Mimetites (see close up photo). I love the three-dimensional form of the specimen, which allows the piece to present beautifully. I can see one small contacted area on the display side, otherwise, it's in great shape and looks beautiful up close as well as in a display case.
