Item Description
An old-time, rich and large specimen, when this obscure South African deposit was in the Transvaal. Plumose radial sprays of moderately lustrous, brassy, bladed to acicular, millerite crystals attractively cover one end of this hefty specimen of essentially solid millerite. Not particularly great to look at, but it remains a rich, large example of the species and locality. Specimens are rarely available. Old-time material from the Charlie Key Collection. 861 grams or 1.9 pounds. Hefty nickel ore! Valued $500-750.
