Item Description
Scintillating, iridescent, brassy, millerite needle sprays richly and attractively cover the interior of the sculptural limestone geode lined with sparkly, light lavender, botryoidal chalcedony. These are superb quality millerite needles for the famous Halls Gap locality in Kentucky. An outstanding combination specimen from this noted locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family. This excellent piece can be safely shipped because it is a geode in shape, and can be packed immobile for the trip. It is a SUPERB example with a lot of surface area, way more than usual for these often tiny geodes. I collected there as a teenager and can attest to this. Also, the site is now inaccessible and no more will come. It is severely undercut and collecting at the roadside exposure is illegal as well. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! Valued $750
