Item Description

Thick, divergent, brassy to greenish, subhedral sprays of metallic acicular millerite crystals richly cover all four sides of this sculptural and rare combination from this obscure South African locality. The millerite sprays ares transected by tiny to 4mm bright green-yellow seams and fracture-fillings of annabergite and gaspeite. The quartz portion is also lightly stained a similar color from the secondary nickel minerals. A great display piece from a relatively obscure locality that has a mineralogical story to tell in its complexity. The few rare specimens come from the outcrops of this uneconomic deposit (MINDAT). Valued at $500.
