Millerite ex Jack Halpern Collection

A rich and pretty specimen of the rare nickel mineral Millerite, with the display face covered with dense, velvety crystals of a deep, brassy-green with an earthy tone to them. Highlighting this miniature is an exposed, 1.9 cm ball that shows the radial growth of the Millerite needles. At 1.9 cm, the size of the ball is exceptional, and it is both interesting and aesthetic to see the radiating growth pattern. A product of mining at the well-known Thompson nickel mine in the mid-to-late 1990's, this is a fine example of Millerite, and almost impossible to come by these days in this quality.
