Item Description

Microlite is an uncommon tantalum oxide and is a member of the pyrochlore group. It is an EXTREMELY RARE accessory mineral from the famous Sapo Mine. A sharp, glassy, 1.3 cm, golden-amber, microlite octahedron is jauntily perched on the edge of a lustrous, glassy, bi-colored tourmaline. Lustrous purple lepidolite crystals are peppered on both the microlite and tourmaline, as a super accent and contrast. The teal-blue termination is broken, but healed. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a slight contact on the edge of the termination. Remarkably rare and showy combination material from this noted locale featured in a 2009 Mineralogical Record article. Value???
