Item Description

A classic pegmatite combination specimen from the noted Moat Mountain granite locality. Honestly the piece reminds me of similar specimens from Colorado or Baveno, Italy, but in my experience, the New Hampshire specimens are much less common on the market. The piece is features several sharp, blocky, well-formed, cream colored crystals of Microcline measuring up to 1.5 cm associated with sharp, gemmy, lustrous, Smoky Quartz prisms measuring up to 8 mm long. I can see a tiny bit of a soft bluish-green tinge (Amazonite) in the Microcline crystals, but they're mostly white-buff colored. It's more of a reference specimen than anything as there are some contacted crystals, but if you've ever wanted a decent near full cabinet sized piece of this material, this is a great opportunity to pick one up. From the collection of Fred Milman with a label from Beryl Mountain Minerals.
