Item Description

Here we have a rarely seen feldspar association specimen from New Mexico of all places. The central pink prismatic Microcline crystal is beautifully accented by off-white blocky crystals of Albite, with minor accenting crystals of what could be "Chlorite", although the lable on the box says Magnetite, which I'm sure is not correct. The piece comes from the collection of Harold Urish, whose handwritten label on the base of the plastic box in which the piece is mounted states that it was obtained in 1996 from Chris Cowan at the Tucson Show. A rarity to be sure for any feldspar collector, as I have only seen one other, which can be found at this link on mindat.org http://www.mindat.org/photo-137545.html
