Item Description

An attractive toenail sized specimen from one of the most well-known mineral producing areas in all of Colorado. For many years, the pegmatites around the Florissant / Lake George area of Colorado have produced what collectors and dealers know to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of color, quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen is a beautiful piece featuring comprising a sharp, well-formed, vivid blue-green color Amazonite crystal with distinctive and highly sought after white "stripes" on the prims faces of the crystal. This is due to a secondary deposition (epitactic) of Feldspar on top of the original Amazonites to create a beautiful two-tone effect. No damage that I can find, outside of the underside of the piece where it was separated from the matrix. Don't miss out on this great Colorado classic.
