Item Description
The granitic pegmatites in Park and Teller Counties in central Colorado are famous for producing some of the world's finest crystals of Amazonite (the blue-green variety of the Feldspar species, Microcline). Typically, for whatever reason, it's difficult to find good thumbnails of this material that don't just feature a single loose crystal of Amazonite. It's hard to find a good thumbnail with an association of Smoky Quartz or Albite in my experience. This piece is a lovely thumbnail of this classic material featuring a blocky, sharp, well-formed, medium blue-green colored Amazonite crystal measuring 1.8 cm across, associated with a "rose"-shaped group of white bladed Albite var: Cleavelandite. No major damage on the front/display side and it's quite showy to boot.
