Item Description
Amazonite specimens from various claims around Park and Teller Counties in central Colorado are among the finest examples of this blue-green variety of Microcline ever seen. Keep in mind that Feldspar is rarely found in colorful crystals (most of the time Feldspar is white or colorless), and the sheer number of superbly well-crystallized richly colored Amazonites to come out of this area is quite impressive. This piece is a beautiful crystal of a rich blue-green hue with sharp, well-formed faces. The piece is actually doubly-terminated, as the base of the crystal has re-crystallized ("re-healed") where it detached from the pocket wall. Specimen weight is 31.88 grams
