Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites all over the Pikes Peak Batholith have given collectors and dealers some of the finest Amazonite in the world specimens from the standpoint of color, quality and morphology. Here we have a gorgeous blue-green color, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, blocky Amazonite crystal group forming a fine "Manebach" twin. The piece is mostly complete, though one side is incomplete. Please note that the piece is repaired. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12291). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
