Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen features blocky cream Microcline crystals with a notable hollow "cast" in the center - perhaps the result of a preexisting Zinnwaldite crystal that has since disappeared. This specimen was collected by Rich Kosnar in September of 1980 when he found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic". From the collection of Brian Kosnar (his number BK336 can be seen on the bottom).
