Item Description
Exceptional, sculptural large microcline from the pegmatites of the Raikot area of Gilgit-Baltistan. Three impresssive, aesthetically intergrown creamy sharp Carlsbad-twinned crystals have porcelaneous lustre and texture. The scattered clusters of tiny black schorl needles are a fine accssory and contrast. The angled twin is 13.0 cm long and the upright twin is 11.0 cm long. This excellent large specimen is from the late Fall of 2005 find. Choice and uncommon microcline from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. This artistic piece has excellent 360-degree visual appeal.
