Item Description

A dramatic, rare and colorful large combination from this well-known locale. An uncommon, large, 8.8 cm, sharp, doubly terminated, prismatic, pearlescent white microcline crystal is attached to the classic salmon-colored calcite. A 3.0 cm section of a fluorapatite crystal is attached to one side and the microcline is partially cloaked in black ferrosalite, a rare member of the Diopside-Hedenbergite Series. A bit of bruising is noted, but this is surely an impressive and highly representative combination example of the specie and locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
