Item Description

Here is something for the Feldpsar collectors out there. This specimen is from a find in Montana from about 10 years ago. This is something that is not often seen from Montana This specimen features a good quality, sharp, porcelain-esque tan colored "Baveno" twinned crystal of Microcline. The twin crystals are elongated along the b axis, and the twinning plane, a diagonal one, runs through opposite edges of the prismatic crystal. The name of this twin comes from the locality in Italy where the habit was first observed. These twins are very hard to obtain from Montana. This piece is a nice quality "Baveno" and would make a great addition to a thumbnail collection or a Montana mineral collection. The piece comes originally from Chris van Laer.
