Item Description
A wonderful single prismatic crystal of "Baveno"-twinned Microcline from Little Cahuilla Mountain in Southern California. The piece is complete all around with no major damage, only a few small imperfections. The color is a soft creamy-beige hue. The defined reentrant angles / lines of the twin are best seen on the terminations, and play nicely against the large smooth prism faces. If you collect worldwide Feldspars or minerals from California, this is a great representative piece to add to your collection.
From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
