A complete oddball formation of buff colored Microcline from California. Captivating growth features that exhibit large linear exterior growth that seem as one crystal but a multitude of smaller uniform crystals or stepped growth making up the potential inside. The interior stepped growth consist of sharp tiny lustrous faces. The tan areas on the front view have a glassy amorphous texture that are probably an secondary Hyalite Opal coating as it also has a bright green fluorescence under long wave. The Microcline also flourescens a nice pink color contrasting with the green from the Opal. The piece is in great condition with some trivial bruising. A highly unusual Microcline specimen with a mesmerizing texture and uncommon growth history that is just plain cool! Ex. Robert E. Reynolds Collection. Self collected by Bob long ago.
