Item Description

A very attractive cluster of well-formed and well-terminated, complete-all-around Microcline crystals from Pakistan, like towers of white! The crystals are lustrous with a porcelaneous texture and color, with textbook form. The tallest is 12 cm and the two others that flank the large one are 8.5 and 7.5 cm, respectively. This is an exceptional and aesthetic piece that resembles skyscrapers in a modern cityscape; it is a very geometric piece. For the feldspar nerds out there: Although labeled as Orthoclase in the Hefendehl catalog, it is indeed Microcline as there obvious evidence of perthitic texture of intergrown Albite with its thin, nearly parallel streaks in the host Orthoclase crystal (per Dr. Tom Campbell). This is certainly a feldspar worthy of sitting next to gem crystals because of its handsome structure and form!
