Item Description
A fragment from the Canyon Diablo Meteorite that created Meteor Crater in Arizona. These fragments are classified as an iron octahedrite (coarse octahedrite). The largest known example of this material is the famed Holsinger Meteorite which weighs 639 kilograms (1,409 pounds) and can be seen on display at the Meteor Crater Visitor Center. Weight of this specimen is 24.1 grams. A cool piece of this historic asteroid impact.
