Item Description
A classic example from the famous Canyon Diablo meteorite found at Meteor Crater, west of Winslow, Arizona in 1891. The meteorite is classified as an IAB-MG, and was actually the first confirmed occurrence of the mineral Moissanite (natural silicon carbide - commonly known as the abrasive "carborundum"), along with the species Krinovite, Lonsdalite and Haxonite. This piece is a tumbled piece of the meteorite with a beautiful silvery-steel color on the exterior. Specimen weight is 4.51 grams.
