Item Description

A competitive-level large thumbnail or small miniature-sized specimen with COLOR AND SHARPNESS, for any species, that stands out all the more for being from the best of species pocket we refer to as "green wulfenites" from the 1960s. These are classics from the heyday of uranium mining in these famous deposits when specimens came out mainly through Belgian exploration geologists and dealers in the 1950s-1960s. Brilliant, emerald green, bladed crystals, to 1 cm in length, of metatorbernite, totally cover a nice sized matrix. It is a gorgeous specimen with unusual poise and separation to the crystals in this size range, and top luster and color saturation. From the award-winning thumbnail (and the occasional toenail and miniature) collection of Sharon and William Panczner, author of the book Minerals Of Mexico, and last seen and exhibited in the 1960s and recently rediscovered.
