Item Description

Sharp, golden crystals of Switzerite to 3 mm richly populate this well-trimmed piece of metamorphic matrix. The lathes of Switzerite often form radial fans which are quite attractive. An important example for both the species and locality, the Foote Mine is the Type Locality. Many people do not realize that this locality figured prominently in identifying rare phosphate species during the 1960s.
