Item Description

Messelite is a very rare hydrated calcium iron phosphate that was named after the Messel Mine in Germany back in 1889 or 1890 depending on who you read. This piece is from the Type Locality for the speices and features beautiful whitish radial "sprays" with an unusual brownish coating of an unknown mineral. Extremely difficult to find on the market, and if you collect rarities or worldwide phosphates, don't miss out on this one. This piece comes with a classic label from noted Czech specialist, Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
