Item Description

A rare, large, old-time, complete all-around and pristine, sharply terminated, tetragonal meionite crystal from Norway. The flesh-red to tan crystal has a preferential calcite coating, that fluoresces modest reddish-purple. Meionite is a member of the Scapolite Group. This is a large and rarely seen old-time crystal for the locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and formerly in the Robert Deidrick Collection of Oakland, according to Bob's label. The locality is Vest-Agder, Norway, not Kragero, Telemark. Value??
