Meionite (Scapolite) (''Cat's Eye'' Crystal)

A lovely soft yellow color, prismatic crystal of Meionite (Scapolite) from Mogok. The crystal is actually doubly-terminated, as I can see tiny crystallized faces on each end under magnification, so I would call this a complete "floater" specimen. The crystal is slightly translucent when backlit, but when it's viewed in reflected light, you can see a distinct chatoyant "cat's eye" effect. These crystals came from a find in 2003, and all but disappeared from the market, as virtually nothing has been seen since. If you collect gem crystals, or specifically Scapolites from around the world, do not miss out on your chance to get your hands on a wonderful representation of these rarely seen crystals from this fairly obscure locality.
