Meionite (Scapolite)

This stone is from and older find of Scapolite from Tanzania. The two main colors for Scapolite are purple and the ever popular yellow. To be correct, the names of each species are Marialite and Meionite. Tthis is a beautiful gem with a lovely yellow color and an attractive "Oval" cut. This gem is virtually eye clean and the color is typical for the material. This material only comes from a handful of localities in the world, and clean stones are difficult to find.
