Item Description
What a fine, and rare example of Scapolite. It is a mostly complete single crystal of gemmy Meionite (Scapolite Group) from an unusual locality in Burma. This handsome crystal displays a silky luster outwardly on the prism faces and also internally within the crystal. Holding it up to the light and looking down either end, it's obvious that the crystal is gem and displays almos a "Ulexite-like" transparency. The prism faces that make up itys rectangular outline are striated and the termination is slightly rough but scintillates with a high luster. This little gem member of the Scapolite Group has a mass of 12.36 grams.
