Item Description

Mcguinnessite is a rare Mg-Cu carbonate, a member of Rosasite Group and is named after well-known California mineralogist, Al McGuinness. One end of the matrix is richly covered with nifty radial clusters of teal-blue mcguinnessite spikes. The matrix also has patches of glassy, colorless/white orthorhombic crystals of vaugnatite, a rare silicate. Such combinations are very uncommon from this old copper mine. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection.
